Job Description

Purpose: To support student learning by assisting licensed staff in curriculum/program implementation. Exercises independent judgment to assist in the management of classroom/program operations in a manner consistent with administrative direction, district policies and procedures, and goals of the instructional program. Manages student behavior effectively in accordance with the building behavior policy. Maintains high standards and expectations for students in a manner that encourages independent learning and personal growth.

Hours: 3 hours per day
Contract Status: Limited Term, position ends 6/18/2021
FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Classified
Start Date: As soon as possible
Calendar: 178 Work Days
Rate: $15.98 per hour
Notes: This position will be working on-site at one of our elementary schools to support hybrid and is a temporary position through the end of the year.Open until filled with earliest review of applications on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An associate’s (or higher) degree, two years post secondary study, or a passing score on a district approved assessment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; including communications to parents under the direction of the general education and special education teacher/service provider.  Interest in learning to effectively use other communication systems.
  • Ability to work with challenging behaviors and creatively problem-solve difficult situations while using intervention strategies.
