Job Title: Secondary Science TOSA Work Year: 165 days + 10 Additional Days Department: Teaching and Learning Services Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule Salary Range: $38,000 - $83,500 Benefits: Fringe Benefits based on PEA Negotiated Agreement Status: FLSA Status: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Valid Colorado Teaching License or eligible for same at time duties are assumed
Secondary Endorsement or licensed in Science
3 - 5 years minimum secondary Science teaching experience
Knowledge of and commitment to effectively support the District Strategic Plan
Participation in all required professional development training and required school trainings and planning before and after school, evening and during summer months as needed
PREFERRED:
Master's Degree in Education or Education related content area
Valid Colorado Principal License
Experience with district curriculum and assessment development
Experience in coaching teachers and/or facilitating professional development for teachers and leaders
Experience leading data team meetings and/or professional learning communities (PLC's) and professional development
Experience developing Scope and Sequence documents
Experience in Pueblo School District No. 60 adoption process
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Possess an in-depth understanding of state standards, curriculum and assessment programs with emphasis in Science
Experience with leading STEM education initiatives
Develop Science and STEM budgets within district budget allocations
Seek out appropriate grant opportunities to support Science and STEM learning
Lead all Science curriculum adoptions and implementations
Demonstrated success in the use of data to improve instruction
Experience in preparing and presenting high quality, research based professional development
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, both within the local district, and externally with the community
Organizational and planning skills for setting both short term and long range goals, and for coordinating efforts for accomplishment of those goals
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the respect of peers and ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships
Demonstrates initiative working independently and with groups
Support teachers in the implementation and alignment of STEM; Use data from classroom and other measures to assist with identifying, planning and implementing professional development that support integrating the magnet theme
Assist in identifying, acquiring, and organizing available resources to support student
Knowledge of and willingness to incorporate authentic assessments, team and interdisciplinary teaching and cooperative learning
Integration of technology into instructional practices and programs
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives in order to meet the needs of all students
Performs all of the job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
